What are the healthy fats?
Not all fats are bad. There are healthy fats out there that beneficial to our bodies in many ways. It helps in our body’s function and construction of cells and tissues in the body. It also provides vital energy. So without further ado, here they are.
- Polyunsaturated fatty acids – fats that you can find in plant-based food as well as natural oils which can help improve cholesterol levels in the body. These fats play a significant role in reducing the risk of heart diseases and type-two diabetes.
- Monounsaturated fatty acids – this type of fat is also found in various oils and food, particularly in natural and non-processed food. It also plays a vital role in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart problems.
- Omega-3 fatty acids – this fat is actually a type of polyunsaturated fat. It’s a kind of fat that is focused on the health of the heart. It is mostly found in fatty fish like tuna, marlins, and others of the same kind. It is known for preventing coronary heart disease.
Fats are suitable for the body. However, moderate consumption should be observed. The same principle goes with anything because anything too much is not good at all.
